Virtually Healthy

It takes a spark to ignite a flame; in our case, it took COVID-19 to ignite conscientiousness for healthy living. No matter where you are working from, investing in a simple, healthy routine makes a difference. Personally, the one thing that COVID-19 has taught me is that we are living at the speed of light without pumping the brakes to take care of ourselves; that is neither good nor helpful for a reasonable life expectancy. Did you know that the life expectancy in the United States for females today is 78 years? Compare that to the life expectancy in Europe, which is 84 years for females, five (5) years can make a big difference.
Staying healthy doesn't have to be complicated or stressful; we don't need expensive gym memberships or monthly diet plans. Start with one change a day: a) Go for a walk down the block in the evening (start getting those steps in, and hey, if you can afford that home gym, use it); b) Get that water bottle you have been procrastinating to keep on your desk (fill it with water, drink, repeat); c) Start replacing one coffee cup with a tea (I am a coffee lover just like you, I know this is hard); d) Eat one less fast food and one more salad (your body will start to thank you); and e) Buy a little more fresh and little less processed (sure, it takes a bit more time to prep, but worth it and delicious).
As always, stay safe and practice responsible social distancing, and wear that mask!
